I am just now sitting overlooking an amazing view of Marbella's coast from a top-floor apartment in Marbella. Its just that crisp blue sky and absolutely silent as its not even a breath of wind. In addition, I can also see the mountains off of Africa's northern coast line and the spectacular mountain of Gibraltar. All in all its a beautiful Monday morning here in southern Spain and I can look back at a nice week playing the NH Collection Open at La Reserva GC.
I was fortunate to have my friend Filip Evergren on the bag this week and even though he thought it was a tough physical test walking the demanding terrain he always had a smile and a positive attitude and that is one reason why I made my first cut on the European Tour. The first two days was an interesting test to say the least due to the windy conditions. However, I am glad I have played college golf in Oklahoma so that for sure helped me out to get within the top 30 after the first two rounds. I also need to thank Hans Wennermark and his wife as well as Kjell Borjesson and his wife to come out and cheer on the last few holes the 2nd round. It was awesome and thanks for the roars guys. I almost forgot, not really, but I cannot thank Birgitta and Bengt Eklow who are dear family to me that hosted me this week. First class service and it was as always a pleasure to see you guys and share memories and laughter together. Thank you.
Back to the golf now. I must say I got many good shots in the bag this week and played pretty solid overall and learned things that I will improve and I am confident it will enhance my game. This sport is amazing since you get to meet so many fantastic people wherever you go and get a piece of their lives and get to share some of yours, its a pretty nice combo. I must take my hat off for Los Naranjos GC as well and their wonderful staff and courtesy, especially in the pro shop which is owned by Swedes. You guys are the best! Cannot thank Mats Lindstrom and his wife enough for everything they have done this week, Mans Lundahl, Sebastian Lindstrom and of course my caddie this past week Filip Evergren. You guys always got a smile and are awesome to be around. I will see you guys again soon.
I am about to go back home to lovely Gothenburg, Sweden to see my dear family who misses me I bet and my friends. Not going to be easy to leave this weather but at the same time going to be great to get back home, rest and work hard before playing in my next event where I got incredible memories from last fall. Going to play a Challenge Tour event south of Barcelona, Spain in a couple of weeks on the same course I qualified for the final stage of the European Tour Qualifying School.
Enjoy these pics beneath and take advantage of this beautiful day wherever you are, at least I will try to sink in this awesome day before I get back home.
Take care =)
