I'm back

I'm back! I have not been posting any blog posts in a while but I thought I need to start back up again and share my journey with you guys.

I had a fantastic and busy off-season and have been working harder than ever. It was not easy to change certain things in my golf game but if you want to improve and get better at something in life you need to dare to sweat and get through the ups and downs and push through the load of hard work. It did not take many weeks til we could see improvements and it is fun to work on something towards my goal to step up to the European Tour in a near future. I play on the Challenge Tour this year and have played a few events so far. It is really cool to see that my changes are able to work even under pressured situations in tournaments and I learn and get better every week. I played an event in Sweden a few weeks ago, the PGA Championship hosted by Ingelsta Kalkon and I played in the final group the last day. Awesome to get back to the heat again and I look forward to improve my game on and off the course that is always "work in progress".

I promise I will be back again very soon!

Take care

Feeling good & Happy holidays

22/12/2017

HO HO HO everyone, I hope you guys are doing great in the final rush towards one of the best times of the year, Christmas. I know that most of you are pretty stressed and busy right now to get things ready and buy those last presents before the stores close, but hey just relax. I think the most important during the holidays is to be together and spend quality time with each other. So at least try to not stress too much and share the love of life and hold family relations close instead of logging onto Instagram, Facebook and read emails. I know I do it sometimes too, and Mom I will  get better at it, I promise =) Lets try to put the phones away and play some games instead and appreciate the food as well as think about why we celebrate Christmas instead.

I know I have not been too active here lately but I will try to sum up the most of my incredible golf journey since the last post from Portugal this summer. I did start out the 2017 season playing quite a few European Tour events which was awesome. I played very solid in the beginning of the year and made most cuts. Then something really clicked that magical week that we celebrated "midsummer" here in Sweden, the last week in June. I played the Challenge Tour event, Made in Denmark Challenge - presented by Ejner Hessel in Kolding, Denmark at Royal Oak GC. I got to stay at my friend's Thomas place situated close to the course together with another Swedish guy called Joel. It was all in all a week to remember, we really had a good time from day one even though the weather conditions were windy and rainy all week. I shot 66-67-72-69 for a total of -14 to claim my first WIN at this level so far. It was an absolute incredible feeling and to play well down the stretch and to finish off with a nice birdie on the 72nd hole in front of the crowd was fantastic. So I definitely dedicate this WIN to my sponsors and also to my family because without your support I would never ever get this opportunity to stand there that Sunday holding that shiny trophy toward that rainy danish clouds.

The second half of the season could have been a little better but I think it was pretty good in a sense to get that little dip so I could evaluate and analyze what I still need to improve before taking that next step up. I did reach one of my two goals of the season, to WIN once but it just was not meant to be to finish top 15 this season. This may sound strange to some, but with another proper off season before the 2018 season on the Challenge Tour starts and the race toward a spot in the top 15 in the end of the year is what I will put all my efforts toward, to get to secure that full European Tour card for the 2019 season. You see we golfers need to think long-term and in this regard I have taken another necessary step in the right direction with my first W so far. I want to thank all of my sponsors once again for all that you do, click on Partners to see most of them. But now...

Lets enjoy the holidays and LOVE one another.

'Tis the Season...     /Oscar Stark

On the road.. Portugal done and Italy next

Hope all of you guys out there are doing great and thanks for stopping by reading my new post! Right now I am sitting on a bus on the way to Malaga, Spain that includes most of my friends on the Tour. We left Portimão, Portugal behind us after a fun week at Morgado Golf Resort & Spa for the Open de Portugal (co-sanctioned European Tour and Challenge Tour event).

The week started off pretty extraordinary for Sebastian Soderberg and I when we could not collect our golf bags at the baggage claim at our final destination in Faro, Portugal. However, we did alright in the tournament even though we could not play a practice round before the event actually started. Fortunately, we did walk the course (Henry was nice to borrow me a scotty cameron circle T putter from Titleist to get the speed right on the greens) and prepared ourselves that way and both of us played the weekend. I played very solid overall and I feel comfortable all-around on and off the course which I am very fortunate about. There are a few things to work on and I am excited to improve on these things right away since that will be my first priority to do from now on. I shot 73-70-71-71 (for -7 total, PAR 73) to get T35th.

I have played two other events since the Joburg Open (ET event) in Johannesburg, South Africa. One in Nairobi, Kenya and another in Belek, Turkey. These weeks were both amazing and I am very happy that I did post a couple nice rounds this early in the season including a 65 (-6) the first round in Kenya and a tied personal best 63 (-9) in Turkey in the second round.

Rocco Forte Open is up next at Sicily, Italy at the Verdura Resort that apparently will be very nice, so I am looking forward to another FUN week, before I get back home and get ready for the US OPEN final qualifier outside of London coming up in two weeks.

Thanks for all support and take it easy out there spreading love! The first pic is Joel and I before I left for Portugal (Sebastian had to swim in 50F water temp in the ocean loosing a bet that day.. haha!) at Barseback G&CC in Sweden where the Nordea Masters will take place next month, I hope to play in that one and to see you there!!

Until next time..

Hey guys, I hope all of you are doing well wherever you may be and might do out there in this fantastic world of opportunities, dreams, love and laughter.

I am at home right now in Sweden which is very nice for a couple of days, it was snowing today and I have not seen such big snowflakes ever before and it was so pretty. These snowflakes got to fly free for so long from somewhere far far away, until they finally hit the ground, amazing. However, I know it has been long since the last time I posted a blog, I did have a nice break from golf during the winter weeks and did work on some other stuff and just enjoyed myself which was needed. I just got back from South Africa and I was there for 4 weeks practicing and playing two events. The biggest event of the two was the Joburg Open (European Tour event) that was hosted at Royal Johannesburg & Kensington GC. It was a fantastic 36 hole golf club with the East course being the best and toughest test of the two. It was a rainy week with lots of delays and very early mornings (4am morning alarms) but it was a pure pleasure to play such a great event. I played some quality golf as the first big event of the season and my game tee to green was on point, I was putting great too but not much dropped, but hey that is how it is sometimes. I shot 68-70-75 for a -2 total and finished 90th in the biggest tournament in the world, it was 210 players teeing it up last week.

I had to Monday Qualify for this weeks Tshwane Open at Pretoria CC, Pretoria, South Africa. We played one round at Irene CC for certain spots to qualify for the event. I played fantastic and shot 68 (-4) which was one short of getting in to the event.

My game feels very good this early and I am excited to get the 2017 season going, I have good feelings about this year. It will be a lot of fun and laughter this year, which is the things I try to focus on the most.

I hope you are with me this year as well, fasten your seatbelt, it will be a great ride!

Take care and I will see you again soon...

Hey guys,

Hope all of you are doing well out there in the world, wherever you may be and may be doing. I am back home right now and looking at the snow falling to the ground. It is so pretty and calm outside, just a little colder than in Oman, Dubai and in China where I have played the last four final events of the year this European Challenge Tour season. The temperature reads -1,5C*/30F right now and I am drinking hot tea to stay warm; comparing to the feel of 100F in all these countries I just mentioned. It was so much fun though, and I had to drink lots of water and stay dehydrated at all times to hold my focus on top.

The first event was in Sanya, Hainan - China which is called "the Hawaii of China". It was about a dozen of couples soon to get married who took photos behind the 18th green overlooking China's southern ocean which was beautiful to see. The course was really good and I stayed on the beach which was awesome! I got to experience the most crazy storm in my life since we did get "the tail of a Typhoon" so it took me 2 days and one morning to finish 18 holes. So because of the delays of heavy rain and stormy winds the tournament got cut down to 36 holes. I did play very solid and had so much FUN on the course. I shot 71-68 (-4) and finished T4th which was sweet!! This result bumped me up on the rankings and next up was Foshan Open where I could have played better but I had such a great time with my roommate Espen so it did not really matter.

Next up was Ras Al Khaimah Challenge in Dubai. I had never been there before and so many of my friends thought that was strange since it is pretty much the "golf mecca" around Europe because of the pristine weather conditions. It was very hot and blue skies all week, we stayed on the beach and just had such a great time. It was like I almost had not seen food before the first morning in Dubai when we ate at the breakfast buffet, after being in China the last 2 weeks. However, I must say they do have some fantastic cuisine, it is just that we are not too used to these foreign flavors. I love their dumplings though. I played very good here in Dubai as well, I did not make 1 bogey on my front 9 holes all week (4 rounds) and went -17 on these holes, which is crazy. =) The back nine was more tricky and longer so I finished at -13 for the week and a T11th place, 70-69-69-67.

Next up was: NBO Golf Classic Grand Final, the top 46 players on the ranking only and simply a joy to play in from beginning to the end. I had a great time playing with my Pro-Am group, including one gentleman who is now designing golf courses for Jack Nicklaus. The course located in Muscat, Oman is called "Almouj the Wave" and is ranked among the best in the middle east, and there is no doubt about that. It is probably the best course all year and it is situated by the ocean front and is very similar to a links style course. It is designed by Greg Norman. I played awesome last week and finished T15th firing, 69-72-68-70 for a -9 total score.

I finished 31st on the Road to Oman and already got a pretty good European Tour status for 2017, however, I aim for the full European Tour card next week.

I must say I have not been this HAPPY and have had so much fun on the course and been this relaxed ever before. I am HAPPY and this is only the beginning. I would not have the opportunity to play golf and compete around the world having so much fun like I have right now without the support I get from certain people. THANK YOU so much, you all know who you are!!

Next up is European Tour Q school final stage next week in Barcelona, Spain on the PGA Golf de Catalunya resort, I am excited and my only focus will be to have FUN, LAUGH and be RELAXED on the course. Everything else will fall into the right places automatically ... hopefully =)

Take care guys, and do not forget to LOVE and go for what you wanna do in life. Don't doubt it, do it!

Excited for the finals!

Hey everyone,

It has been a while since I published the last blog post but I am happy to update you with my life as we speak with some exciting news, so please take a couple of minutes and read as well as enjoy a couple of cool pics from the last events on the European Tour and the Challenge Tour.

Ever since the start of this season and especially since my top 5 finish in Switzerland in June I have played very solid golf, I have had fun on and off the course and I have felt in sync and in control with most of the different aspects that I do experience on and off the course on a daily basis. It has been a joy and it is obviously more fun playing golf whenever you feel this way. So the trend continued with a great week in Denmark (the week after the Scottish Hydro Challenge) where I started of with a solid round of 66. I got top 20 that week and continued playing well in Slovakia the week after when I fired -9 for the week and finished T27th. Then I had a couple weeks off at home and I got to just relax by the ocean a couple of days which was fantastic.

After the break I played in Northern Ireland and got off to another solid start with a 69. The second round could have been better but it just helped me to take revenge and play even better later on. However, even though the Swedish Challenge was the game felt great before the event and then from nowhere I got sick, but I decided to just do my best and play but it could have been better those two days. The next event was in Finland and after a solid week there I could feel that my game was great and that top finishes were just around the corner.

The Czech Masters was up next (European Tour event) in Prague, Czech Republic and I had great memories from this place two years ago so I knew it would be a fun week. I did have a lot of fun and played very solid as well with rounds of 71-69-71-71 (-6) and finished T16th in front on names like Lee Westwood and John Daly to just name a few. This week gave me a real boost of confidence going into the next few events like the Bridgestone Challenge outside of London where I finished top 20 again with a total score of -11 for the week.

Now to the peak performance of these consecutive weeks on the road, it was time for the Cordon Golf Open by the northwest coast of France. We rented a nice apartment this week and had a fantastic view of the ocean from the balcony which was awesome. The course which was tight on certain holes and somewhat tricky suited my eye, and after a 64 the second round I was right where I wanted before the weekend. I played solid on Saturday too and shot 68 which put me into the final group on Sunday. A position I have not been in before on the Challenge Tour. I must say I felt most calm the final round and fortunately I put some pressure making a 40ft for birdie on the first hole. So really from the 1st tee shot the final round until the 50ft birdie putt I made on the 72nd hole Sunday I felt in total control. I shot a 66 (-4) for a total score of -11 to tie for 2nd which was fantastic. That putt on the last hole put me in a 35th position on the Road to Oman ranking and secured me a spot into the finals of this year's Challenge Tour season. I am really looking forward to these last events and I will do my very best to secure a European Tour card for 2017 which is my primary goal.

Right now I am at home in Sweden, preparing for what is to come. It is a fun upcoming stretch left so lets do this! The finals starts the week after the tournament outside of Rome, Italy that is played the 6-9 Oct. I will play in Kazakhstan next week which is one of the biggest events of the year so I am looking forward to continue solid play and just have fun. After Kazakhstan I will go back home to re-gain some energy before the finals starts with two consecutive weeks in China (at Hainan Island and then in Foshan), Dubai and the final event in Oman.

Thank you so much everyone that make this journey possible, YOU make a difference! Thank you for all the support so far it really counts. Lets finish off this season right and just be, in the present having fun, with much laughter all the way until the last putt of the season.

Enjoy these pics you all! Take care =)

Hello everyone,

Hope you are doing great wherever you are, if you have just recently enjoyed a midsummer celebration with friends and loved ones here in Sweden for the summer solstice or if you are drinking iced tea in Dallas, Texas to cool yourself down from the summer heat wave.

I just got home from a fantastic Scottish highland landscape that we were able to be around this past week for the Scottish Challenge in Aviemore. It is such a beautiful place this and the course has some links character to it and it just melts so well together with the hills and the mountains in the background that has a few snow patches left from the winter. I will share some pics down below so please comment if you would like to experience this stunning environment.

The golf has been great lately and I have really enjoyed myself on Tour. I can say that it is a lot of fun to go to the office when it is fun like this. So thank you guys who let me do this day in and day out. Love you! I played very solid in Switzerland and got a top 5 there at -8. I just love that place and well I guess it helped that I did get top 5 last year as well at the same place so I presume it is a course that fits me just right with the snowy mountains in the background.

I played just great at Najeti Open too in France for 3 rounds, the last one could have been a little better but it is just those moments that you can learn from.

This past week was another solid week and my game feels pure in every department but it just needs that little extra polish so I can put that last gear in. That is what I am longing for right now and I know it will come. I will not force it to come to me I will just let it come whenever it does and enjoy the ride.

Please, sit back in a comfy couch and take a sip of your Cappuccino and enjoy these pics below...

Take care!

great things ahead - Prague next

I got back home a few days ago after a month on the road. A journey that started great in Egypt where the conditions and the weather were fantastic. Dark green grass that was as lush and pure as artificial grass. It was a lot of fun on and off the course and I shot -10 total over 4 rounds to tie for 26th. The practice facilities where 200y from the pool and the relax area of the resort we stayed at so it felt nice to cool yourself down a bit in the 35C*/100F+ heat. =)

Next up was Madrid, Spain, another good event with an awesome surrounding in between rolling hills and pretty close to snow-covered mountain tops, and a beautiful monestary that could be seen from several holes at the course.

Next up was Turkey which is one of my favorite stops. The combination of a great tree-lined golf course and golf facility that holds world-class standards and the Gloria resort and its cuisine as well as their facilities made everyone smile and feel on top of the world. I made my first ever hole-in-one at a 165m par 3 with a flush 6 iron which was an amazing feeling. The funny thing was that two other of my friends made hole-in-ones this week too, so only 3 swedes holed out and we were all close friends which is crazy.

Last week we played the Montecchia Open just outside Venice, Italy. Well the location almost speaks for itself, what a fantastic place and week we had. There were 7 swedes of us that shared a big villa at the countryside that made the week's atmosphere very enjoyable, like playing cards in front of an open fire at night. The first round was cancelled due to heavy rain so the tournament was played over only 54 holes. After practice last Thursday we decided to visit the island of Venice and wow what a place. Such a romantic and historic city with lots of character. I absolutely loved it. Of course, we needed to get a gelato ice cream and share a ride on the river on a so-called gondola which was very special. As far as the golf went I played very solid and shot -6 which was about 10 shots from the winner.

I am leaving for Prague on Monday and feel like I will perform well and have lots of fun as well as play with the passion and effortlessness I had when I was a kid. I will play in Switzerland in two weeks which is one of my favorite events, so I am really excited about the next few weeks ahead. One thing at a time.

My motto: Feel good, play good.

Take care everyone and makes things simple. Love and smile.

Enjoy the pictures below from last month's journey:

First event of the year @ Fancourt - George, South Africa

17/2/2016

Tommorow the first event of the year starts at the stunning Fancourt resort close to the sea by the south coast of South Africa where the white shark lures.

We play three rounds at three different courses (the links, montagu, and outeniqua) before the cut is determined. All courses are beautiful in its own way, but my favorite is without a doubt the links where Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson where battling in the 2003 President Cup.

The week has already been fantastic and it will only get better. It is a pro-am event so you play in teams with amateurs at the same time as it is a proper pro event with good prize money. All in all it is one of the best weeks of the year. There are functions, food, and entertainment every night and so there will be lots of laughter and fun this week. Lets play some good golf and have fun.

Hope all of you are doing well. Take care!

prepping for the 2016 Season

Happy new 2016 everyone! I hope the holidays have been fantastic and that you got to share the love and laughter with your close family and friends.

I think this year will be a good one when all of us hopefully realize that we need to support and help each other as well as be and stay together in this world so we can get even stronger.

To be strong is something powerful and I am trying to do my part helping others and be a role model when I am at home and more so on the road playing. Right now I am focusing on my physics to be as well prepared as I can, starting the 2016 season. I am excited for a new year of many opportunities on and off the course and I hope you want to ride along with me on another interesting journey this season. I will play on both the European Tour and the Challenge Tour this year.

Thanks everyone for your support. You do make a difference. So go out and do just that in this world even if you think it wont matter cause it is such a small change.

Take care!
